Feedback Request

We'd love to get some feedback on the site in general, and the posts we've been writing. We want to know what you want from the blog. Also, we recently made some changes to the Nation page: We put the Planned Parenthood defunding votes for every senator up on the page. Like I said, let us know what you think. We welcome all comments and would love constructive criticism. We know you have thoughts and we'd love to hear what they are. Comment on a post or page or e-mail us at wecantignore@gmail.com. Thanks!

Email President Obama and Secretary of Human Resources, Katherine Sebelius

So, anyone heard about how there have been four states so far who have completely cut funding for Planned Parenthood?

Yes!  And Indiana was the first.  Obviously, as the first, Indiana is getting the hardest time from President Obama and his secretary of human resources, Katherine Sebelius.

So, this is our job.  We're going to do something similar to what we did on June 17.  Except this is exciting.  We're going to email the President and Katherine Sebelius!

All you have to do is visit this link which will take you to a similar form as before on sba-list.org.  Same as last time, just enter your information, personalize your message, and send!

Do it right now, before you forget!  This is a way that we can make a name for ourselves!  Thanks so much for protecting the unborn.

In Christ,

Aubry
Doctors were earning more than $1,000 on an eight-hour shift, with two abortions an hour and in some cases three. Some worked two shifts a day and doubled their income… Physicians would fight for the paying cases, find reasons not to do patients whom the clergy had sent with a request for reduced rates, and disappear altogether when asked to do the free cases.
That's an excerpt from a book by Bernard N. Nathanson, M.D. called Aborting America. Dr. Nathanson was probably one of the biggest reasons abortion became legal in the United States. He was an abortion surgeon and made big money from it.

But now, he's realized that abortion is completely wrong, and he's written that book and one other about why. He, more than most pro-life people, know the evil of abortion completely and can vouch for the dishonesty of those who work in the abortion industry.

This is a song they used to sing back in the 70's when he was a big name:
There's a fortune . . . in abortion
Just a twist of the wrist and you're through.
The population . . . of the nation
Won't grow if it's left up to you.
In the daytime . . . in the nighttime
There is always some work to undo.
Oh, there's a fortune . . . in abortion
But you'll wind up in the pen before you're through.
Now there's a gold mine . . . in the sex line
And it's so easy to do.
Not only rabbits . . . have those habits
So why worry 'bout typhoid and flu?
You never bother . . . the future father
And there are so many of them, too.
Oh, there's a fortune . . . in abortion
But you'll wind up in the pen before you're through.
And this isn't just the mindset of 1973. This is today. This is what is happening now. As many would say, "So much for choice." The only thing those in charge of Planned Parenthood think of is money. (Those who are in charge on Planned Parenthood's finances. Most of those who work in abortion clinics do really want to help girls, and they don't know what is really happening. They don't understand what they're causing.)

This is what we're fighting right now. Greed. "Need" for what we want. And in our day and age, that is a huge enemy and hard to conquer. This is why we need to pray. This is why we need God on our side. And He is. For sure, He is. But if we're sitting around doing nothing but hope that the senators will vote in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood, or hope that someone else will do something, or hope that it will all just disappear and we won't have to do anything, nothing good will come out of that. If we are fervently praying, we will make a difference. If we are working hard to fight against abortion, we will make a difference. It takes faith and works. We can't ignore it anymore.

What We Know: President Obama

The "What We Know" series attempts to explain each of the 2012 Presidential Candidates' views on abortion. We'll start with the incumbent, President Barack Obama.

The Simple Answer: A quote from the President, found here: "There is a moral implication to these issues [the issues of abortion], but that the women involved are in the best position to make that determination."

Behind The Answer: Three long list articles on Obama's view can be found here, here, and here. Some key points from those articles: In 2005, 2006, and 2007, Obama received NARAL(A major pro-choice group) 's highest rating, a 100%, in terms of pro-choice voting. In March 2009, President Obama restarted government funding for embryo stem cell research and ended government funding for adult stem cell research. President Obama is very pro-choice, and hesupports abortion whole-heartedly.

abort73

So, while researching abortion one day not too long ago, I came across this website: http://abort73.com/.  I was so excited when I found it!  I have been looking for a long time for a website that has lots of information, and basic information, one that assumes you have no idea what you're talking about, so uses basic words that the average person would understand.  And this website was exactly what I had been looking for.  But it went above and beyond what I thought it would!  Not only does it offer information (and it has a lot of information!), but it also has very educational videos!  And that's not all!  It sells different items like clothing, waterbottles, and bags (and has free graphic buttons to put on your blog/website) all of which point people back to abort73.com so that they can get real information.  To introduce you to this website, I am going to show a video.

This is one of the videos that I watched and it blew me away!  I hope that you will visit abort73.com because it provides sooo much information that is so helpful in realizing exactly what is going on in our country!

Thank you!

To start out, thank you to all of you who took the time to contact your senators yesterday!  Because of those phone calls/emails/letters, our senators know that teenagers do care about the unborn!

For those of you who didn't contact your senators yesterday, you still can!  I understand that that was the last day of school for some of you, so it would have been hard to fit that in.  Please consider still sending an email at the very least by clicking here.  We are working on the vote count for all of the US senators regarding the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act to put up shortly on the nation page.  When we're done, we'll write a post about it.  We will soon have another day to contact your senators (I need to come up with a better name for that!) regarding either the same bill, a different one about abortion, or both!  So stay tuned!

Thank you again to all of you who are protecting the unborn!

Tomorrow!

So, I know I keep talking about this, but I wanted to give one last resource for contacting your senators.  I have already introduced sba-list, but I'll just give you a link to a specific page in that website: click here.  This will lead you to a web page where you can enter your zip code.  Press enter and it will take you to an email that they already have written for you.  Enter your information and personalize your message (remember what to include in your message!).  I would encourage you to read through what they have written and take some of it out (it talks about "my tax dollars" and since we don't pay taxes yet, then it wouldn't make as much sense:)).  Also, this way, you know what you are saying to your senator!  I really appreciate all of you who have decided to contact your senators tomorrow!  With all of us working together, we can help in the pro-life movement!

If you are planning on contacting your senator in any way (phone call, email, or letter), please shoot us an email at wecantignore@gmail.com so we get an idea of how many people do this!

June 17

June 17 is this Friday!  I am going to be making phone calls to my US senators and I'm really hoping that everyone reading this will too!  To help you out, I'll just tell you a few things that I would include in an email/letter:

  • Name and Age.  Your age will catch your senator's attention!
  • Why you believe abortion is wrong.  If you need help with this, email us at wecantignore@gmail.com.
  • "Please vote to defund Planned Parenthood because..."  This kind of goes along with why you think abortion is wrong.  If you would like statistics about abortion to use, click here.
  • "Thank you for serving our state and our country."  It is important to thank them for the hard work that they put in to serve our country.
These four things are all you really have to include in an email/letter.  Sometimes, the shorter the better!  Thank you to all of you who are protecting the unborn by contacting your senators!

Team Members

Hey everybody.  So, you've probably noticed that I'm the only one posting, but there is another team member involved!  That's my sister, Taryn, and she will begin posting soon.  She has been doing more behind the scenes work so far, which I am so thankful for!  But she will become more active on the blog, soon.  I am also going to introduce a new team member!  Jacob, who is like my long lost fifth brother, is going to be posting and helping us out on this main blog.  He's proof that it's not just girls who should get involved in the pro-life movement, but guys too!  He'll have a page, just like Taryn and I, he will help us with our legislative research that we will be putting up here, and he'll post his thoughts.  Um, yes, he has many thoughts.  I'm excited to have him here, and I think you will be too!!

Overpopulation: Yes, it's a myth

As I was going through my daily newsletters this morning, I came across an article about world overpopulation.  I'm kind of tired of the topic myself.  I'm doing Geography for an elective this year and they won't stop talking about it.  According to them, there is way too many people.  Another thing that really get's me is the phrase, "Save the Earth, abort a child."  But this article that I read completely did away with all that.  Overpopulation is a myth.  Here's the beginning of the post:

Proclamations of overpopulation have circulated for decades. Are they true? First off, what is meant by the word “overpopulation”? It has nothing to do with the amount of people but rather to the resources and the capacity of the environment to sustain human activities.
To be overpopulated, a nation must have insufficient food, resources and living space.
With the world population  at around 6.8 billion last year, food and living space are hardly a concern. In 1990, it was estimated that the world could feed up to 35 billion people. Most sources estimate that the global population will level out at around 9.2 billion in 2050, and then start to decline....(to read the rest of the post, click here)
In our culture, it has become the fad for women to either have less children or have no children at all.  They can get married and enjoy a married life, but with medical help have no children (she might abort her child if she becomes pregnant, or get sterilized before).  And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that a woman's purpose in life should be only to have kids and keep the house clean.  My plan in life doesn't involve kids right away (but you never know what God will bring you, so I'll trust Him with whatever comes to me).  I plan on going to college, pursuing music and possibly politics, starting a career, and if Mr. Right comes along, getting married.  But I am saying that if God does decide to bless a woman with pregnancy, that woman should not abort her child, even if her child is an "accident".  I was an "accident".  I wasn't "planned".  But I was planned by God, and that's pretty much all that matters.  Up to 12 million girls were aborted in the last 30 years in India by parents rich enough to get an abortion.  They just didn't want a girl, mostly because they might have already had one, they only wanted two kids, and they wanted a boy.  To read an article about this, click here

Anyways, all that to say, I just thought that it was interesting that pro-choicers, who use overpopulation as an excuse for abortion, now can use this excuse no more.  Thanks for reading my thoughts.

In Christ,

Aubry

Pro-life rankings

So, if you've been reading my blog lately, you've probably noticed a lot of layout changes.  Yes, I change things a lot.  But I think I finally found how I want it to look, so hopefully it will stay the way it is now.  Yay!  But this post isn't about the artistic developement of my blog, but about the pro-life activity going on in each state.  So, here we go:

States have been ranked according to their level of pro-life inclination and activism.  I live in Washington.  Washington, right now, is the lowest on the list.  A good friend, after I told him about it, said, "Well, you picked a good place to start!"  All those who live in Washington who are reading this, I especially challenge you to work hard at letting our senators, Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, both Democrats, know what we feel about abortion.  Also, when the next state legislative session begins, we will definitely need to be very active in letting our legislators know that abortion is wrong!  Now, those of you who live in California (I used to), you are ranked #49.  You should be equally active in letting your senators know what you think about abortion!  Your senators are Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein, also both Democrats.  I will post the complete rankings:

1.      Oklahoma
2.      Louisiana
3.      Pennsylvania
4.      Arkansas
5.      Texas
6.      Nebraska
7.      Missouri
8.      North Dakota
9.      South Dakota
10.  Georgia
11.  Indiana
12.  Mississippi
13.  Kentucky
14.  Virginia
15.  Kansas
16.  Ohio
17.  Michigan
18.  Arizona
19.  South Carolina
20.  Minnesota
21.  Alabama
22.  Wisconsin
23.  Idaho
24.  Colorado
25.  Utah
26.  Florida
27.  Rhode Island
28.  Tennessee
29.  North Carolina
30.  Delaware
31.  Maine
32.  Wyoming
33.  West Virginia
34.  Iowa
35.  Illinois
36.  New Hampshire
37.  Alaska
38.  New Mexico
39.  Massachusetts
40.  Maryland
41.  New York
42.  Oregon

44.  Connecticut
45.  Montana
46.  New Jersey
47.  Vermont
48.  Hawaii
49.  California
50.  Washington
This is all recent and was compiled this year, 2011.  To view that page, click here.  It was compiled by AUL Action, a site trusted by many legislators to give recent and accurate information concerning abortion.  In a previous post, I talked about this website and how they can give you the issues at hand in your state.  To view this post, click here.  I hope this is helpful to you all to know where your state stands in the pro-life world!

sba-list

I really hope that everyone will consider contacting their senators on June 17!  (If you don't know about this, look at my previous post.)  There are many websites that will help you with who to contact and what to say, and so on.  I'll share a few of the most helpful here:

First off, to find your senator, go to http://senate.gov/.  Look in the top, right-hand corner and select your state.  Both your senators will pop up and you can visit their websites, find their office locations and/or email them.  Also, I will have all the contact information for all 100 senators on the Nation page shortly.

Also, http://www.sba-list.org/ is a very good website!  I would encourage you to sign up for the newsletter and become apart of the community.  In their emails, they will have links where you can easily find your legislator and email them all from the sba-list website!

Different websites that I think I have already mentioned on this blog that are helpful are http://prolifeamerica.com/, http://aul.org/, and http://liveaction.org/.  On these, you can sign up for the daily newsletter to be aware of what's going on in D.C. and the legislature of various states.

Something that makes contacting your legislator easy is when a website gives you all the information you need and you practically just have to put your name and email in and click send.  As I have mentioned above, the sba-list does this and they have one going right now.  It fits perfectly with what we are going to do on June 17, so if you feel like you need help with how to go about contacting your senator, but you still want to do it, click here.  This will take you to a web page on which you can personalize a message that they have already written for you.  Make sure that you say your name and your age!!  By letting them know how old (or rather how young) we are, we can make a huge impact.

Thanks so much for supporting life!

In Christ,

Aubry
