Happy New Year!

Thought I would share this GREAT news that I just received from 40 Days for Life.

Dear Pro-life Friends,

I wasn't planning to send you a message today, but late
last night I couldn't go to sleep after reading some
GREAT news -- so I thought I'd share it with you to mark
the end of 2011, and to look forward to whatever great
things God has in store in 2012!

Ever since first getting involved in pro-life efforts in
1998 -- when Planned Parenthood announced plans to build
an abortion facility in my town -- one thing that has
always been a bit disheartening for me is when Planned
Parenthood releases its annual report.

Year after year, despite the best efforts of the
pro-life movement, Planned Parenthood's abortion numbers
and revenue dollars have continued to go up and up ...

... UNTIL NOW.

The abortion giant just released the annual report for
its last fiscal year (2009-2010) and these numbers have
FINALLY begun to decline!

Here are the stats ...

Abortions at Planned Parenthood:
* 2009: 331,796
* DOWN in 2010: 329,445

Planned Parenthood Total Revenue (income):
* 2009: $1.10 Billion
* DOWN in 2010: $1.04 Billion

Now, I realize that these are not huge declines -- and
the abortion numbers still demonstrate a STAGGERING loss
of life -- but the tide has begun to turn.

And these numbers were from BEFORE 2011, a year the
abortion chain's president, Cecile Richards, just
described to abortion advocates as "the most difficult
year in our history."

40 Days for Life campaigns have been conducted outside
of more than 135 Planned Parenthood facilities this fall
alone, and it is clear that your prayers and faithful
efforts ARE paying off.

Let's commit to build on this momentum in 2012!
For Life,

David Bereit
National Director
40 Days for Life

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Too Many Aborted

I don't have time to post one of my mammoth talk-a-lot posts (yeah, you guys love those, don't you???) so I thought I'd share a little video that I came across that caused me to stumble upon a new website called Too Many Aborted.  The thing about this website is that it is quite strong and in-your-face.  It also is mostly about the racism of pro-choice Planned Parenthood.  So, here's the thing, this website may go overboard a little bit in how strong they present their arguments.  Plus, they're touching on a very sensitive problem in our country, racism.  But what they say about Margaret Sanger being racist is true and what they say about Planned Parenthood targeting minority areas is true.  And the truth that they preach about the beauty of adoption is beautiful.  So, watch this video and let us know what you think about the video and the website and the work that Too Many Aborted is doing!

Merry Christmas!

MerryCHRISTmastoyouall!

Just thought that I'd wish you all a very merry CHRIST-mas!  Enjoy time with your families and celebrating the birth of our SAVIOR, Emmanuel, GOD with us.  Think about that.  GOD with US.  It gives me the chills to think that CHRIST came down to Earth to just be with us.  He could have skipped the first 30 years and just died, but He didn't, He came down and spent time with us.  Anyways, love you all and have a spectacular Christmas weekend!

Love in CHRIST,

Aubry

P.S.  LOVE this song, and thought it would be perfect to share (especially since I'm a huge fan of Francesca Batistelli!)  Enjoy!

Why Abortion is Wrong: The Counterarguments

Why Abortion is Wrong is a series that attempts to view the issue of abortion from a number of different views and angles. You can see the last two posts for this series here.

In this post, I'm going to examine some of the key counterarguments pro-choicers might bring up against the key argument for pro-lifers. I did a post on that argument here, and I examined one argument against it, the question of defining murder. Just as a reminder, to disprove this argument, one would have to attack one of the premises. The argument is logically valid, so if the premises are true, the conclusion must be true. Just as a refresher, the argument is:
Premise 1: Murder is wrong.
Premise 2: Abortion is murder.
Conclusion: Therefore, abortion is wrong.
Now let's take a look at some counterarguments against this argument.

Jacob, don't laugh.

What could be better??? Pro-life message in country music! I found this video and when it was done I sat there, stunned. So powerful! Kenney Chesney sings this song, There Goes My Life.

See Jacob???? Country music really IS good! (Just so all of you understand, Jacob laughs at me for driving in my truck with the country music cranked up, window down, hair blowing, yeah, even throw in some cowboy boots!)

Guest Post: Becca French

Meet Becca French, a fellow worker in the pro-life movement. We met over the internet on the Rebelution forum and when I found out what exactly she was doing (let her explain), I asked her to write a little something about it for y'all to read. So, enjoy, and take a look-see at Becca's very own pro-life blog.

Hello, everybody!

My name is Becca French, and I'm a friend of Aubry's. Through a mutual friend and the Rebelution forum we met and became fast friends because of our similar passion for life. I love We Can't Ignore, it's so encouraging to see that other teenagers besides me care about abortion and want to make a difference! Aubry was kind enough to let me post, and I am honored to do so.

My second semester of my freshman year of high school I wrote a research paper on Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. When I wrote my paper I thought turning in my final draft would be the end of my days of writing about abortion, but God had different plans. Very, very different plans. For the rest of the semester and for the entire summer abortion was nagging in the back of my head. Statistics that I read in February still haunted me in July. Stories I read of grieving post-abortive women and pictures I saw of abortions would not leave my mind. Finally in August of 2009 I emailed my composition teacher I wrote the research paper for. I asked her what I could do about abortion as a teenager. She came up to me one of the first weeks of my sophomore year at school and said easily the last thing I would have expected her to say. "Becca, I think you should write a book about abortion for teenagers."

Oh snap.

Even though the thought of writing a book terrified me, I knew in that second that that was what God wanted me to do. It made so much sense; when I played house with my sisters when I was little I would always be a writer, I had always sensed that God had something big and unexpected in store for my life, I had even been randomly given somebody's old laptop that they didn't need anymore. Yet, it completely and utterly terrified me. There are a lot of words in a book, and choosing the right ones and the right order was way more than I could ever do, especially as a scared 15 year old. But, God chose to use a scared 15 year old to do His will instead of the thousands of people more qualified and competent to do this job. I believe He did this in order to show His strength in my many weaknesses, and to teach me to depend on Him.

Fast forward a couple of years. Now I'm a senior, 17 years old, God has given me faith to replace the terror (though occasionally the terror sneaks back, God is still always faithful), and I've written 31,000 words. Many of them are not the right words, and the rest are not in the right order. But it's a working progress and someday it'll be done and God can use it as He pleases. I'm as excited as ever to write this book and to serve my God. This morning somebody asked me what I was going to do next year when I graduate and I realized the only honest response I had was, "All I want to do is save babies, love people, and see people meet Jesus." There is so much hope and power and healing in Jesus: enough to save children, enough to heal hurting women who have had abortions, enough to heal broken families and lives devastated by abortion, enough to provide for women who are pregnant and choosing life, enough to help a scared teenager write a book that's way over her head!

Well, Aubry, I hope this is remotely along the lines of what you were looking for. Thank you, all, for taking the time to read this, for reading the incredible posts by the We Can't Ignore team, and for caring for life. Have a wonderful day!

-Becca

P.S. I have my own lil 'ol blog as well, if you're interested in learning more about my book. Both the book at the blog are titled The Unborn and the Uninformed. Be sure to check out the FAQ page if you have any questions. Thanks :)

Testimonies: Suzi Caughran, Part 4 (Last Part)

Here is the last part to Suzi Caughran's amazing testimony to God's grace!  I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did.  Comment on this post, or shoot us an email, to let us know what you thought of Suzi's story.  If you would like to contact Suzi and ask her questions about her story, email us to receive her email address.  She is willing to talk with you about anything!

As I started in my iChoice orientation and training, I was told that part of the training for consultants was to go through iPath. (Path of Life) is a post abortive counseling group which is based on the bible. I wanted to go and knew I needed to be there. Wow…I had no idea what was going to take place the next 8 weeks. I hated it and needed it at the same time. It was the most healing and beautiful counseling I could have ever imagined. I was with a group of 3 other woman who all shared their stories. I finally realized, that I was a mother of 3 beautiful children. I have no idea how I was able to end the lives of 3 children because of my own selfishness and stupidity. We had a me- moralization for our children the 7th week. I thought I would die, I was in so much pain for what I did……and how could I have done that…….I had so much love and support from the leaders of our group, Debbie and Laura. I prayed and prayed, and was finally able to write a letter to my children in their honor and ask for their forgiveness.

Why Abortion is Wrong: The Logical Argument

Why Abortion is Wrong is a series that attempts to view the issue of abortion from a number of different views and angles. You can see the introductory post for this series here.

In this first post in the Why Abortion is Wrong series, I'm going to take a look at the key argument pro-lifers put forth against abortion from a logical angle. But first, a quick lesson on logic. Every logical syllogism (a fancy logical term for a common form of a written argument) must both be valid and sound for it to be true. Valid simply means that the syllogism is set up in such a way that, if the premises, or supporting claims are true, the conclusion must be true. A sound argument is a valid argument with true premises. For example, if my premises were "All dogs are animals" and "All animals are alive" and my conclusion was "All dogs are alive," then as long as everyone agreed that my premises were true, my conclusion must be true because the argument is valid. So, with that out of the way, let's take a look at the key argument pro-lifers use against abortion.

Why Abortion is Wrong

Hello everyone! My name is Jacob, and I've been friends with Aubry for several years now. I've been a part of this blog since it began, but I haven't done much on it. I started out writing a series on the candidates for the 2012 presidential election and their views on abortion (found here) but didn't finish because of a couple reasons: first, I didn't believe that it really mattered; it was too early, and not really aimed at what I believed was the key demographic of our blog. Second, and to be quite truthful, probably more key to why I stopped, I gave up. I didn't feel like I really had much to say, and I didn't feel like anyone would listen. I've since come to realize that both of those feelings were wrong, but I still struggled to find the time and the gumption to write. I was thinking about the blog over the weekend, and thinking of what I could write, when I got this idea. Over the next couple weeks, I am going to write a series of posts on why abortion is wrong from several different aspects. I'm going to start with a logical argument and then move on to counterarguments that pro-choice people may bring up against my argument. From there I'll move on to a Biblical, Faith-based argument, and go from there to whatever else I can think of. I hope you'll read through my posts and comment on them, whether you agree with me or disagree. Thanks for reading this and I can't wait to continue posting in the future.

In Christ,
Jacob

Testimonies: Suzi Caughran, Part 3

I guess I was the lucky one, I got to read this story all in one chunk.  I promise, I will get the fourth part out as fast as possible.  Enjoy!

I continued in my relationship with this man. I even moved from Seattle to the bay area (San Francisco) with him and a few years later, married the man that was for me aborting our child. We eventually divorced and I left and moved to Spokane area. I remained single for the next 8 years. I still thought I could catch the man of my dreams as long as I gave up everything to him! Apparently, I am a slow learner.
