Planned Parenthood: A hungry giant worth fighting against

Anyone read about what's going on in D.C. lately?  Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider, is being funded by the government with our tax dollars.  Please watch this video to understand more about what Planned Parenthood is really doing.

As our country is falling further and further into debt, the government is trying to find ways to cut what is being spent.  There are things that are being funded by the government that might surprise the average person (i.e. theme parks, yes, theme parks).  Abortion should be one of those surprises.  A recent House bill, H.R. 3 (the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act), was voted on by Representatives.  H.R. 3 proposed cutting funding of Planned Parenthood clinics, completely.  The House voted in support of H.R. 3, 241-185.  This was good because it meant Representatives were actually doing their job and representing the people.  However, the Senate voted against it 58-42, so the bill was not passed!  This ultimately means that Senators are not representing the people.

Here's where we come in:  As young people, we can catch probably the most attention by contacting our legislators.  So, I'm encouraging you to contact your senator about this issue!  And we'll make it easy for you too.  On Friday, June 17, we will all make phone calls, write letters, or email both our senators for our state.  We will all do it at the same time so as to attract the most attention possible.  It is so important that we make a name for ourselves, and what better time than to start right now?  A time when Planned Parenthood is vulnerable!  I will put all street addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers of all 100 senators on the Nation page of this blog.  You'll just have to find your state, and contact both your senators.  Things to include in your letter/phone call would be:
  • Your Name and Age
  • Where you live (town)
  • "Please vote to defund Planned Parenthood"
  • Why is abortion wrong? (This is something really good for you to come up with by yourself.  Everyone should have their own convictions and personal reasons.  If you need help with this, email us at for more information about the evils of abortion.)
It does not have to be long.  Even a few sentences would be fine!  In fact, short is many times better!  But right now is one of the most important times to get started!  If you will plan on writing a letter, sending an email, or making a phone call, please email us at so that we can keep track of how many people do this!

Remember, June 17, we will all contact our senators!  Please, please, please consider doing this!  This could mean saving millions of lives this year if Planned Parenthood gets no money from the government.  And spread the word!  Let your friends know about this!  Feel free to email them the link to this post!  The more young people we get to contact legislators, the more impact we will make!

Email us at if you are planning on contacting your senators on June 17.
